Halloween Bingo/reading/listening wise, this month was great.  I even got my Blackout! I read/listened to 14 books this month...that's a pretty good haul for me.  Stand-Outs were The Wolves of Winter, Unraveling Oliver, and Dark Matter.

RL wise, not so good...my dog, Maia has been diagnosed with Cushing's disease.  She literally wants to drink and pee all the time because of a tumor on her gland.  They could do surgery, but it will more than likely come back, and it costs thousands of dollars.  They have drugs, one kind that is super expensive--hundreds of dollars, monthly and she would also have to go to the vet every three weeks to have testing done...more hundreds of dollars and it might not even help.  There is also less expensive drugs that don't involve going to the vet every three weeks, but they have side effects that are basically the same as if we do nothing, one of them being lethargy.  Maia is very active, loves to run amok and chase rabbits, squirrels anything smaller than her, pretty much.  So, we don't want to give her anything that will make her not be herself.  She's a really awesome dog.  She is well-loved by the whole family and even the extended family...

On my blog post, (I couldn't get it to post on here) I have a video posted of my dog trying to chase bottle rockets with Grandpa.  You can see it here.

At this point, I bought her some natural stuff that is supposed to level out her cortisol levels and help with her water cravings.  We're just taking it day by day right now...and trying to deal with the fact that she's drinking a lot of water, which in turn makes her have to pee a lot, and if no one is home to let her out, then accidents occur...so far she has only had a couple.
