First I want to say...amazing cover. It's what drew me in when I saw it on Amazon.
This was a kick-ass debut from this author. There is a lot of action, like non-stop action. The only thing that I would have liked is more interactions between the characters. A little conversation once in awhile, especially between the main characters, Avene and McCoy. McCoy seems like he could be a really sweet but bad-ass kind of guy, but we just didn't get a chance to get to know him, hoping the second book has a dual POV between Avene and McCoy.
This bleak dystopian world, with it's cannibals and harsh penalties by totalitarian leaders really gripped me from the start and I am looking forward to exploring it more.
